The Hallmark Channel has done a 180 following widespread backlash forpulling adsfor wedding website Zola that featured a same-sex couple.

They initially did so thanks to pressure from anti-LGBTQ conservative group One Million Moms. Hallmark has since saidit will reinstate the ads, butwe all saw what they did, including Stephen Colbert, who torched the company during segment onThe Late ShowMonday.

“You know what? I gotta say that adisupsetting,” said Colbert. “They’re standing in front of decorative pre-lit trees but the room also has an elaborate wooden mantle. What’s the aesthetic here: classic evening or rustic chic? Pick a lane, ladies. I can’t have my kids seeing this.”

Hallmark, at the time, saidthe company’s brand “is never going to be divisive. We don’t want to generate controversy.”

“We know, we’ve seen your movies,” retorted Colbert. “Hallmark doesn’t generate controversy, character growth, dramatic tension, or leading roles for black people.”
